President's letter for 2023

Hello everyone,

Here I am again with the annual letter to inform you about what was accomplished last year.

 

In order to modernize the membership drive, post cards were once again printed and mailed with all information necessary for you to become a member and/or to make donations by mail or E-transfer. The annual membership fee is $5. Men and women are welcome.

 

Thanks to your donations we paid for:

38 Electronic Blood pressure and Oxygen saturation machines for the 3rd floor: $76 883.99;

A cart for the operating room: $845.51

and Fast Echo for the operating room: $41 376.80;

Therapeutic equipment for physiotherapy and occupational therapy: $6 136.64

Therapeutic mattresses for the 3rd floor: $21 586.00;

Oxygen machine for inhalation therapy: $14 165;

5 Lazy-boy chairs for the employee lounge: $6 869.76;

Toasters, kettle for the employee’s room: $114.96

 

Several purchases were made outright and we are waiting for invoices for several other large purchases.

 

We were thrilled to meet so many people at the July 1st Drive-By BBQ; thanks for your continued support!

 

I want to remind you that our Bazaar will be held on November 04th, 2023 from 10 am to 3 pm. If you wish to make donations for the Bazaar you may bring them to CVR, on Friday November 3rd between 6 pm and 9 pm. (No furniture). Please note that there will not be a sit down lunch, however several vendors will be in the cafeteria offering refreshments.

 

Without your donations we would not be able to purchase the equipment needed by many of the patients who visit the Hospital. For this, we are very grateful.

 

So, on behalf of the Executive and in my own name, we want to say a BIG THANK YOU and Bravo for all you do as volunteers, for your donations or by any other means.
